Each bill covers the utility's billing period (about a month, ending on a meter-read date), and is named by the month it's billed in. Saved is what the bill would have been without solar minus what was paid, plus the value of credits banked that period. Net grid is the energy drawn from the grid minus the energy sent to it over the bill: “in” when the house drew more, “out” when more went out.
When a bill's solar or house figures are missing, they're filled in from the daily battery system totals inside its billing period, if at least 85% of the days are on file. The month's tiles add up daily totals from the 1st; the comparison uses the same days a year earlier, only when all of them are on file.
The daily chart draws solar as a bar and the house's use as a line. Solar above the line is that day's surplus; the pale gap from a bar up to the line is the shortfall the battery and grid made up. Both are daily totals: the battery shifts some surplus into the evening, so not all of it was exported.
Hatched bars and an Estimated or Partly metered badge mark figures that weren't fully read from the meters: the 2023–24 bills' round-number solar and house use, days rebuilt after a reading was missed (Aug 9–11, 2026 are split by measured sunlight), and the days in mid-2026 when the new inverter fed power in behind the meter. They still count in every total. Solar by bill month across the years is on Trends.
